Putin Sets Out World View After Midnight in Library

Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed his worldwide agenda at a midnight meeting with journalists in the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library.
The president arrived more than three hours late looking fresh, fulsome and feisty after back-to-back meetings, a speech and an on-stage interview at his annual business conference here in his home town of St Petersburg.
Putin declared that Russia will host the World Cup and dismissed suggestions that Russia cheated with scandal-plagued FIFA to snare the 2018 competition.
Regarding the flow of weapons into the hands of Ukraine separatists, Putin said they got the arms to defend themselves in various ways.
To the suggestion by Canada's premier, that Russia be expelled formally from the Group of Eight major economies, he said prime minister will change his mind if the US says Russia should return to G8.
