Two people were reportedly killed after an Israeli airstrike targeted the home of the deputy chief of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) in Damascus early on Tuesday, with PIJ confirming the report.
Footage shows municipal workers cleaning up rubble around the home of PIJ deputy chief Akram al-Ajouri, in Damascus' Mezzeh neighbourhood. It is unclear as of yet whether al-Ajouri is among the killed or wounded.
The strike reportedly took place minutes after Islamic Jihad commander Bahaa Abu Al-Ata was killed by Israel in the Gaza Strip in a targeted killing operation executed jointly by the IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).
