USA: We are now all rooting for Trump, says Obama

Everyone is now “rooting” for President-elect Donald Trump’s success, US President Barack Obama said as he spoke from Washington on Wednesday, after the business mogul defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the US presidential elections.
Obama acknowledged that “it is no secret” Trump and him have had “some pretty significant differences” in the past, the president maintained he and his team would ensure the transition of the presidency went smoothly, just like former US President George Bush’s team did when he first took over the Oval Office.
Speaking about Clinton, the President said he “could not be prouder of her”, adding that the former Secretary of State's candidacy “was historic and sends a message to our daughters all across the country.”
