Iraq: IS supporters arrested outside of Mosul

A group of nine suspected supporters of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) were arrested by a Sunni militia near Qayyarah, south east of Mosul, on Saturday.
The Sunni militia, called "Sons of Iraq" affiliated with the Popular Mobilisation Forces, detained the men. The militia used a source in the village Al-Minchal, who was able to identify IS supporters. The prisoners were reportedly beaten upon arrest.
Mosul is the last major city in Iraq under IS control. The army and militias, alongside Turkish and Kurdish forces, are working towards its recapture by liberating nearby towns and cutting off supply routes to the militants who remain in the city.
