France: Friendly atmosphere as fans sing together before Russia-Slovakia match

Russian and Slovakian football supporters gathered in streets and squares of central Lille, Wednesday, ahead of the Russia v Slovakia Euro 2016 Group B match at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in the suburb of Villeneuve-d'Ascq.
Russian and Slovakian fans sang songs and posed together for joint photos. A delegation of the Russian Interior Ministry, whose officers arrived on the invitation of French colleagues to help maintain order in public areas, were also spotted at Lille's central Place de General de Gaulle.
A vast police presence could be seen all over Lille to prevent possible provocations from football hooligans, who spoilt the football festivities in Marseille last weekend with street battles and violence.
