Thousands of farmers left the fields and took to the streets of the Spanish city of Almeria on Tuesday to protest local and European policies in the farming industry.
Associations and farmers blame the government for the low prices of fruits and vegetables sold outside the European Union, claiming they don't cover production costs.
Carrying banners and chanting slogans such as "United farmers will never be defeated," protesters marched from the Las Almadrabillas plaza in the city centre to Plaza Emilio Perez.
Farmers also protested in other Spanish cities of the Andalucia region, such as Granada and Malaga.
