Russia's President Vladimir Putin arrived at the presidential palace of Kazakhstan in Astana as part of his two-day state visit on Thursday morning. President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Putin at the entrance of the Akorda Palace and went on to the hall of ceremonies, where they were greeted by members of Russian and Kazakh delegations and the guard of honor. Both discussed bilateral cooperation, focusing on issues varying from the Islamist threat in Tajikistan to talks on Russia's space launch site in Kazakhstan.
