Russia: Massive training drills continue ahead of Caucasus 2016 exercises

Large-scale snap military drills at several undisclosed locations across Russia continued on Friday, to check the combat readiness of the Russian armed forces.
Footage shows service personnel hooking up a satellite as well as checking radio, telephone and message lines. The video also captures a Sukhoi Su-34 fighter being checked and prepared for a reconnaissance flight, as well as a column of armoured vehicles driving along an undisclosed street at night.
Three of the country's four military districts hosted the drills: the Western, the Central and the Southern. The Aerospace Forces, the Northern Fleet and the Airborne Troops were issued with a full combat alert. The major readiness check comes ahead of the upcoming "Caucasus 2016" military drills, set to launch in September.
