SOT, Jorge-Yamam Serrano, writer and director of 'La revelacio 1.0' play (Spanish): "'La revelacio 1.0' ['Revelation 1.0'] is a play of the documentary theatre, where all the things shown are real, any dialogue, any text, any material is absolutely real. It's about the whistleblowers, the informers, the people that could be you or me, they are normal people that [give] testimonies of something illegal, an abuse or corruption inside organisations or companies, and they dare to expose this information, this illegality, this information."

SOT, Jorge-Yamam Serrano, writer and director of 'La revelacio 1.0' play (Spanish): "We take the three most strategic cases. The most important and the most known in the whole world, and they have something in common - the digital. Edward Snowden, Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning, the three are whistleblowers; they are the ones who alert."

SOT, Ruben Ametlle, actor playing role of Julian Assange in 'La revelacio 1.0' play (Spanish): "What we are doing is a very concrete scene. It is an interview that Julian Assange had when he was in Norfolk before he became a refugee in the Ecuador embassy. And it's an interview with Google chairman Eric Schmidt, and they speak a lot in technical terms. So in the end, it is a really strange scene for me to play because it's really cerebral, all the things that they do. In the end, it's like a thesis scene."

Not only closing his mouth but also preventing him from seeing the world, how it is evolving. What they are doing to him looks like torture to me."

Barcelona's Tantarantana theatre puts the highest-profile whistleblowers in spotlight with its updated play, dubbed 'La revelacio 1.0' ('Revelation 1.0'), as footage filmed on Wednesday shows.
The protagonists of the theatre play are WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, former US Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee Edward Snowden.
The updated play has reportedly incorporated new information in the three cases.
The play, which was first launched in summer 2018, uses methods of the documentary theatre, where according to 'La revelacio 1.0' director Jorge-Yamam Serrano, "all the things shown are real, any dialogue, any text, any material is absolutely real."
Serrano said that the theatre play "is about the whistleblowers, the informers, the people that could be you or me, they are normal people that [give] testimonies of something illegal, an abuse or corruption inside organisations or companies, and they dare to expose this information, this illegality."
The actor who plays the role of Assange, Ruben Ametlle, stressed that "what they are doing to him looks like torture."
Earlier this week, Swedish authorities dropped an investigation into a rape allegation against Assange, after a review of the evidence.
Assange is still facing the US extradition request on espionage charges related to the publication of classified military and diplomatic documents in 2010. His full extradition hearing is slated for February.
