After Schock's Fall, House Panel Will Look at Reimbursement Rules

The House Administration Committee is setting up a panel to review its rules for reimbursing lawmakers and their staff.
The announcement follows Illinois Republican Rep. Aaron Schock’s resignation after POLITICO reported he had billed taxpayers and his campaign donors for driving 170,000 miles in a car that only had 80,000 miles on it.
Michigan Republican Candice Miller, who chairs the administration panel, has tasked Rep. Rodney Davis and Rep. Zoe Lofgren to lead the effort.
Miller said in a statement that the new panel will “review current House regulations and explore ways to strengthen the regulations governing official expenses, as well as ways to enhance the training and educational opportunities available to assist each office with compliance.”
