SOT, Journalist: "Mr. President, do you have a trade deal with Japan, have you agreed on a trade deal?
SOT, Donald Trump, US President: "We are working on one and we are fairly close and I don't as to.... Bob Lighthizer, what's happening. Can you give us a status report (pan to US officials)?."
SOT, Bob Lighthizer, US Trade Representative: "We are very close, obviously as a result of this meeting we will be able to come to an agreement on core principles."
SOT, Donald Trump, US President: "We have a very big deal. It's a major deal with Japan. If it gets done, we'll possibly know by the end of this meeting." *NO CUTAWAY AT SOURCE*
SOT, Donald Trump, US President: "I think it's a work in progress. We have a number of people that would like to see Russia back. I think it will be advantageous to many things in the world. I think it'd be a positive. Other people agree with me and it's something that we are discussing. I don't know whether we will make a decision one way or the other, but we did have a discussion about Russia last night as to whether or not we want to invite them back. I think it's advantageous. I think it's a positive, other people agree with me and some people don't necessarily agree." *NO CUTAWAY AT SOURCE*
SOT, Journalist: "Any update on another meeting with North Korea?."
SOT, Donald Trump, US President: "Probably have one, yeah, probably. So I'm not I'm not liking short range. Short range is...Shinzo's, it's really his territory. I mean I'd like to ask Shinzo how do you feel about North Korea and the testing of short range missiles? I'm sure he's not thrilled." *NO CUTAWAY AT SOURCE*
SOT, Journalist: But Mr. President, you don't think that the short term missile launches are a violation of UN resolution?."
SOT, Donald Trump, US President: "No, because I never discussed that with Kim, personally. You are talking about personally - I never discussed that with him. I discussed long range ballistic, and that he cannot do, and he hasn't been doing it, and he hasn't been doing nuclear testing. He has done short range, much more standard missiles. A lot of people are testing those missiles not just him. A lot of people are testing those missiles. Where in the world of missiles, folks, whether you like it or not."

When asked about his position on having Russia potentially re-join the G7, he said that a number of people would like to see Russia back, something that he thinks would be "positive" and "advantageous" to the world.
