Artist Accused of Tagging Buildings Arrested in Detroit

Graffiti artist Shepard Fairey is in Detroit police custody after turning himself in on charges that he tagged buildings in the city. Police spokeswoman Officer Shanelle Williams says Fairey was arrested Tuesday and is awaiting arraignment. Fairey was charged in a warrant with malicious destruction of property. John Roach, a spokesman for Mayor Mike Duggan, told The Associated Press in an email that the city's law department has been in touch with a representative for Fairey.
