27.05.2015
A severely injured woman whose husband and 11-year-old daughter were both killed in overnight shelling in Gorlovka in East Ukraine spoke about her experience from hospital, Wednesday. Anna, who lost the use of her arm in the shelling, explained how she was with her husband and three children in their garden when they heard a "whistle." She went on to explain how the shelling resulted in her daughter being "torn in a half." Anna believes her husband was still alive when she was taken to hospital, saying “he was still breathing, his eyes blinking." He later died along with her eldest daughter who was just 11, with another man also killed in the onslaught. Members of the OSCE special monitoring mission were at the scene to determine exactly what happened.
