I know that you always lead this process and continue to lead it. And just a kind word, farewell, critical evaluation of the leading representatives of our confessions are always very important for people. Thank you very much and congratulations." Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, on his Name Day and on the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture in Moscow, Sunday. Putin presented Patriarch Kirill with a gift and thanked him for his "very significant" contribution to the coexistence of religions within Russia. May 24 is the Name Day for Saint Kirill in Russia as well as the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture in many Orthodox and Slavic countries around the world. Events marking the day are meant to serve as reminders of the ties binding the Slavic people, and encourage youths to learn more about their Slavic roots.
