Philippines: Protesters compare Duterte to dictator Marcos

Protesters used the anniversary of Ferdinand Marcos' imposition of martial law, to compare current President Rodrigo Duterte to the former dictator, at a protest in Manila on Friday.
The anti-Duterte protesters held placards reading 'Duterte-Marcos not any different' and 'Never again to Martial Law' as they marched to Rizal Park. Murals showed swastikas inside Duterte's eyes, alongside an image of Marcos.
Around 4,000 police officers were deployed to secure the streets.
Since his election last year, Duterte has repeatedly threatened to impose nationwide martial law to crackdown on drug trafficking and corruption.
