Britain Says Footage Exposes Assad's Lies

Britain's Foreign Secretary said on Wednesday that footage of a barrel bomb being dropped by Syrian government forces has been obtained.
The revelation calls into question President Bashar al-Assad's assurance that these weapons are not being used.
Britain's Foreign Office said the footage was discovered on a mobile phone found in the wreckage of a crashed government forces helicopter.
According to Amnesty International, barrel bombs -- improvised containers packed with explosives and metallic debris -- killed 3,000 civilians in the northern Aleppo last year.
The bombs are dropped by helicopters.
Assad said in February that the Syrian air force did not use barrel bombs. U.S. and European officials have said his denial is not credible.
