France: Taxi drivers get pepper sprayed as they protest against Uber

Around 150 taxi drivers met in Paris on Tuesday to protest against the taxi company Uber, who they claim are operating an illegal taxi service that is stealing their customers and depreciating their wage. Taxi drivers gathered at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports and proceeded to protest at Bastille square. Police officials on the scene deployed pepper spray as brief scuffles broke out. Uber was founded in March 2009 by American Travis Cordell Kalanick. As of May 2015, Uber taxis were available in in 58 countries and 300 cities worldwide.
