Around 200 environmental activists took to the streets of Bucharest on Sunday, with scuffles breaking out and police arresting at least three protesters. Joining the voice of recent 'anti-corruption' protesters, the group carried placards against the government and called for the resignation of Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta. A number of protesters attempted to break police cordons and march on a government building in the area. The protest comes after prosecutors recently indicted Ponta over alleged corruption and tax evasion. The country's parliament is expected to hold a session on whether to strip the Romanian leader of his current immunity to prosecution next week.
