The General Director of the Federation Tower, Mikhail Smirnov, said “it is the tallest building in Europe, as it is 374 metres [1,227 feet] high,” while showing a group round the tower’s upper floors in Moscow on Wednesday. The upper floors of the building are currently still under construction. They are set to contain a restaurant on the 89th floor while above that high-end apartments will be installed. The Federation Tower will be the pinnacle of the largest building complex in the world, the so-called Moskva-City, which was in part modelled on London’s financial district. The Tower has an area of 443,000 square meters (1,453,412 square ft) and a total of 101 floors with 97 above the surface and four more underground. So far it has won over 40 awards and prizes, including the prestigious World FIABCI competition the 'Prix d'Excellence' for the Office Property category.
