Thousands of people gathered in Kerch to mourn the victims of the deadly college attack on Friday.
People laid wreathes and flowers. Russian Orthodox and Muslim services were held in memory of those who died. Sixteen victims of the attack were reportedly buried at the Central Cemetery.
“We have to take heart, be strong and unite to support the families that had lost the most important in their lives. Kingdom of Heaven. May their memory live on forever,” Head and Prime Minister of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov said in his address.
According to EMERCOM, the death toll of the attack has risen to 21, with dozens of others wounded.
The incident, which saw several shots fired and at least one large blast, is being investigated as a multiple homicide, according to Russia’s Investigative Committee.
Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee are currently examining the site, but according to preliminary information, many of those killed died from bullet wounds.
