Republican presidential candidate and Kentucky State Senator Rand Paul gave a keynote speech in Los Angeles, Friday, were he said that, for her past foreign policy failures, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton "should be forever precluded from being commander-in-chief" of the USA. Speaking at a fundraiser organised by the Republican Party of Orange County at the Hotel Irvine, Paul stated that "Hillary's war in Libya made us less safe. It made the Middle East more chaotic", adding that whenever the US has "toppled secular dictators, we've gotten chaos and the rise of radical Islam and we're actually more at risk". Discussing US foreign policy, Paul criticised those that supported US involvement in Libya and questioned whether intervention was always in the nation's best interest, saying "we need to look before we leap".
