European Parliament President Martin Schulz was presented with the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen, at a prestigious ceremony in the western German city of Aachen, Thursday. German President Joachim Gauck, French President Francois Hollande, Jordan's King Abdullah, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko were among the dignitaries that attended the ceremony. The Charlemagne Prize has been awarded annually since 1950 from the city of Aachen, to public figures for their work towards European unity.
