Switzerland: WADA's duties must be separated - Russian Olympic Committee head

Alexander Zhukov, president of the Russian Olympic Committee, said it was vital that the official duties of those who establish anti-doping regulations and those who conduct doping tests be separated within the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), while speaking to the press at the Olympic Summit in Lausanne on Saturday.
Referring to the Declaration of the 5th Olympic Summit, a document that summarises the discussions held at the meeting, Zhukov said “the document also states that those coaches, doctors, physiotherapists or other officials, who force athletes into doping, must be brought to justice. We have already passed, in its first reading, a law which introduces such criminal responsibility."
WADA president Craig Reedie commented by saying “I think there is a strong feeling that breaches of the Wold Anti-Doping code require strong sanctions and WADA is the body to do that.”
