USA: Republican presidential hopefuls arrive for GOP debate

Dozens of Republican supporters gathered outside the Quicken Loans Arena in Ohio, Cleveland on Thursday as Republican presidential hopefuls arrived for the first televised debate in the campaign for the Grand Old Party (GOP) nomination to run in the 2016 election. People could be seen carrying placards adorned with slogans such as "fight terrorism support Israel" and "stop Iran's nukes." A small group of pro-life Ohioans presented anti- John Kasich placards, calling him "heartless." Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie and John Kasich are the Republican candidates who will take part in the second of two debates sponsored by Fox News. They will be quizzed by moderators Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier. Candidates were selected by Fox News on the basis of recent opinion polls.
