Canada: Labour unions demand better working conditions and wages in Ontario

Hundreds of labour union members protested in front of the Ontario Legislative Building, Saturday, demanding better workers' conditions and a $15 (€10) minimum wage in the Ontario province.
Chris Buckley, president of the Ontario Federation of Labour, said "we understand that the employment landscape of Ontario has shifted dramatically over the last decade. It's time the government changes the employment status and labour laws to adapt to those changes, so all workers of this province have a fair opportunity to earn a fair living and be treated with respect and dignity in every workplace across the province."
Buckley also said "we gathered today to send a strong message to the Ontario government, that, every worker in this province should have the right to join the union without being harassed or intimidated."
