Thousands of pro-refugee protesters gathered at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz, Saturday, calling for faster processing and better conditions for migrants dealing with LaGeSo (State Office for Health and Social Affairs), Germany's office in charge of refugee processing. Rallying under the banner of 'Moabit Helps,' thousands carried pro-refugee banners and placards, with one girl bearing a sign reading "It’s cold!" Responding to complaints, LaGeSo have stated that they are completely overloaded and are only able to process about 350 cases per day from the thousands of refugees who are yet to be registered. Some migrants have been made to wait for weeks and are forced to find shelter elsewhere, as the Berlin winter looms. More than 360,000 migrants and refugees have arrived in Germany in 2015 alone and the country expects up to 800,000 to arrive by 2016.
