Former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon gave a speech while taking part in Atreju 18, an event organised by the youth wing of the right-wring Fratelli d'Italia [Brothers of Italy] in Rome on Saturday.
During his speech, Bannon commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin and the perception of Russia, saying that the "Party of Davos detest Russia much more than they hated the Soviet Union when they fought John Paul II, when they fought Margaret Thatcher, and when they fought Ronald Reagan, because they see Putin as a nationalist."
Bannon also praised the efforts of Fratelli d’Italia leader Giorgia Meloni, current Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, saying “they know how to run elections, they know how to select candidates, they know how to do all that, there is nothing that we can add to do that.”
Bannon later said he is proud of US President Donald trump, because “he does not want to start any more wars."
