Thousands of people from across Bosnia and Herzegovina flocked to the city of Mostar on Saturday, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the city's liberation from fascism.
People gathered in the Partisan Cemetery in the Bosnian Croat-majority part of the city, where someone had reportedly spray-painted fascist graffiti, swastikas and insults targeting partisans and Bosniaks overnight.
Many carried flags of Bosnia and Herzegovina and former Yugoslavia and laid floral tributes.
"I am here for the first time and I am glad to see so many great people from all over the former Yugoslavia," said a member of the Association Josip Broz Tito.
According to reports, an unknown group attacked the activists during the day, but local police has not provided any details. No injures were reported.
Since the end of the Bosnian War in 1994, Mostar remained divided, with Bosniak Muslims and Christian Croats living on the opposite sides of the Neretva river.
