Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Paris on Saturday to protest austerity policies and express their solidarity with the Greek people. Protesters waved Greek flags and held banners and placards with slogans such as "If Greece were a bank, it would already be saved" and "Support Greece #Stop Austerity." Some protesters also chanted messages such as "Public debt, it is not because of us!" and "All together, all together, SY-RI-ZA". The protest comes ahead of an emergency European Union summit on Monday in which finance ministers and EU officials will discuss proposals to keep Greece from defaulting on its debt and exiting the eurozone. The southern European country has just 10 days before its bail-out programme expires at the end of June.
