SOT, Adam Schiff, House Intelligence Committee Chairman: "If we find that the President of the United States abused his power and invited foreign interference in our elections, or if he sought to condition, coerce, extort, or bribe an ally into conducting investigations to aid his reelection campaign and did so by withholding official acts - a White House meeting or hundreds of millions of dollars of needed military aid - must we simply "get over it?" Is that what Americans should now expect from their president? If this is not impeachable conduct, what is?"

SOT, William Taylor Jr., Acting US ambassador to Ukraine: "Because of the importance of security assistance...because that was so important for Ukraine as well as our own national interest, to withhold that assistance for no good reason other than to help with a political campaign made no sense, it was counterproductive to all that we had been trying to do. It was illogical. It could not be explained. It was crazy."

Acting US ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor Jr and Deputy assistant secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs George Kent testified before the House Intelligence Committee in Washington D.C. on Wednesday.
Taylor and Kent both detailed the pressure mounted on Ukraine by US President Donald Trump to open an investigation into Democrat Joe Biden and Biden's son Hunter in return for aid and militray assistance.
The president is alleged to have asked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to find damaging information on the business dealings of Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, during the call. Hunter Biden was on the board of a Ukrainian gas company between 2014 and 2019.
