Protesters clashed with military police in Sao Paulo, on Wednesday, after activists from the 'Homeless Workers Movement' stormed the regional office of Brazil's acting President Michel Temer.
Police responded using baton charges as well as firing round of rubber bullets and teargas canisters in an attempt to repel the protesters from the building, in response protesters threw rubbish and rocks at the oncoming officers. Five protesters were arrested during the incident.
The activists protested against cuts in the federal low-cost housing programme 'Minha Casa, Minha Vida' ('My House, My Life') which they perceive to disproportionately affect the country's poor.
