Scores of refugees including families with children were stranded on the Croatian-Slovenian border in the Croatian border town of Trnovec, Monday night, waiting for transport to take them to Slovenia and eventually on to Austria. As the temperature dropped, refugees slept on the street wrapped up in blankets trying to keep their families warm. Volunteers arrived to bring food and clothes to the refugees who are scattered at the border crossing with many unprepared for the cold weather. Some 5,000 refugees had reached Slovenia from Croatia on Monday. The Slovenian Interior Ministry accused Croatia of ignoring efforts to contain the flow after Croatia began directing refugees into neighbouring Slovenia following Hungary's recently sealing of its borders in an attempt to dissuade the influx of refugees.
