SOT, Berivan Firat, Member of Kurdish Democratic Council in France (French): "Well we are gathered today in France to denounce the invasion of the Turkish army in northern and north-eastern Syria since October 9. We are in Paris because it does not only concern the Kurds. Indeed, it is the Kurds who are being massacred, indeed it is the Kurds who are targeted, but this invasion operation, this war is also a threat for the Occident, for France. Let's not forget that 11,000 Kurds, but also members of Syrian democratic forces died to fight Daesh, which today Erdogan has relooked to attack the Rojava people and the Kurds. Which means that tomorrow, unfortunately, we are facing a danger in Europe, in Occident, because Erdogan is capable, and he says it, to use Daesh people, barbarians, against the Occident, just like it was with Charlie Hebdo, Bataclan, Nice and elsewhere."

SOT, Ceren, Protester (French): "Here, today, there are women, there are men, mostly women because they are the ones who fight there right now. Men too, of course, but even more women. Here, what is happening is that we want to show that women have a voice. We all support Rojava, we all support their humanitarian war and we are against all that is happening with the whole of Europe contemplating this genocide. It is a genocide, because we try to completely exterminate a whole country. It is huge."

SCRIPT
Hundreds of protesters rallied in Paris on Saturday to show solidarity with Kurds against the Turkish military offensive in north-eastern Syria.
Footage shows demonstrators with People's Protection Units (YPG) flags, and signs expressing support for Rojava, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria with a high ethnic Kurdish population.
One of the protesters, Ceren, said "we want to show that women have a voice. We all support Rojava, we all support their humanitarian war and we are against all that is happening with the whole of Europe contemplating this genocide. It is a genocide, because we try to completely exterminate a whole country."
Thousands of protesters have come out on the streets since Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the beginning of a military operation, dubbed 'Operation Peace Spring', on October 9 to create a 'safe zone' cleared of US-backed Kurdish groups.
