Officers of Russia's special OMON police force raised the flag on Mount Elbrus, Europe's highest peak, in honour of the 70th anniversary of WWII, Thursday. The eight officers from Moscow took a week to make it to the top to raise the official banner of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The expedition was also arranged to commemorate all their fellow police officers who had fallen in the line of duty. The Mount Elbrus is situated in the North Caucasus region of Russia and is 5,642 metres high.
