Danish Superliga leaders FC Midtjylland made sure their fans could still watch the game together, despite the league restarting behind closed doors, by setting up a drive-in theatre-like big screen experience for their fans ahead of Monday's game against AC Horsens.
Hundreds of fans rolled in to honk their horns and cheer on their team from the comfort of their cars, respecting social distancing rules whilst still supporting the team together.
The drive-in stadium has a giant screen and can hold at least 2,000 fans. A few AC Horsens fans could even be seen in the car park having made the 80-kilometre drive from Horsens to Herning, where FC Midtjylland is based.
Danish teams have been coming up with intuitive ways to involve their fans despite stadiums being closed to the public. Aarhus Gymnastikforening fans were able to be present to follow their team's return to action at Ceres Park last Thursday by live-streaming themselves from home on a giant screen set up in the stadium's stands.
Travelling AC Horsens won the game with a solitary goal from striker Louka Prip. Despite the loss FC Midtjylland remain comfortably at the top of the Superliga with a nine point lead over second placed FC Koebenhavn.
