Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy arrived at the Holocaust Memorial Centre in Kiev on Monday to attend a ceremony honouring the thousands of Jewish people massacred by the Nazis at Babi Yar in World War II.
The Israeli leader noted that both states should work together to ensure that such tragedies never happen again.
Babi Yar is a ravine in the Ukrainian capital and a site of mass murders carried out by Nazi German forces and local Ukrainian collaborators during their campaign against the Soviet Union in World War II.
It is estimated that at least 33,771 Jews were killed by German forces at the site between September 29-30 in 1941.
