Greece’s Supreme Court ruled to extradite Russian cryptocurrency entrepreneur Aleksandr Vinnik to France after a hearing in Athens on Wednesday.
According to Vinnik's lawyer Timofey Musatov, during the verdict's announcement, the suspect collapsed and needed urgent medical help due to the hunger strike he has been holding for the last 24 days.
According to the lawyer, his defendant plans to continue the strike until his extradition to Russia is approved.
The former bitcoin platform operator is accused by French authorities of cybercrime and money laundering totaling 130 million euros ($151 million). More than 100 French citizens were victims of the cyberattacks between 2016 and 2018.
Vinnik has been held in jail since his arrest in July 2017 in the northern Greek tourist resort of Halkidiki. He denies the accusations.
