USA: Demand for pinatas shoot through roof following 1st presidential debate

Mexican artist and shop owner Carlos de la Fuente displayed pinatas resembling Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, in Dallas on Wednesday, which have gone up in demand since the screening of the first presidential debate on Monday.
Fuente stated that there was a "two week waiting period" for those wanting to buy a Trump pinata. The shop owner added that he normally sold such items for children's parties but found that people bought the Trump pinatas "more for social gatherings, special events, and also some of the people seem to wanna take their frustration out on it". He said that it was "a good conversation piece."
Trump has been criticised throughout his campaign for his stance on immigration, the refugee situation and Islam. In December, 2015, he received widespread condemnation after he called for a "total and complete shutdown" of all Muslims entering the US.
