At least 69 Palestinians were reportedly injured when Israeli forces opened fire on the weekly 'Great March of Return' protest at the Gaza-Israeli border on Friday. According to reports, the Israeli forces used live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds to disperse the crowds.
Some of the injured protesters can be seen being carried away on stretchers and assisted by paramedics, while other demonstrators burnt refuse and threw projectiles towards the Israeli security forces.
Thousands of Palestinians have been participating in the weekly protests since March 2018. They began as a non-violent campaign demanding the right to return to their lands and an end to the blockade of Gaza.
