Convicted murderer and Paralympian champion Oscar Pistorius walked free from prison on Monday after he was granted to serve the rest of his five year sentence at his uncle's home in Pretoria under house arrest. Manelisi Wolela, a spokesperson for the Department of Correctional Services said that "Oscar Pistorius was placed under correctional supervision after half past seven last night". Arnold Pistorius who is the uncle of the convicted ex-athlete has allocated his home as a base for the house arrest, which has been described as a "mansion". Oscar Pistorius, 28, was found guilty of manslaughter during October last year after he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day in 2013.
