Thousands of people poured onto the streets of Donetsk on Wednesday, to pay their respects to prominent Donetsk People's Republic fighter Arsen 'Motorola' Pavlov, who was killed earlier this week.
Drone footage captured the remembrance ceremony for Motorola who was the commander of the DPR's Sparta Battalion.
Mourners lined the streets leading up to the A. Solovyanenko Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre. It's estimated that around 10,000 people attended the ceremony, which was immediately followed by a funeral procession with a guard of honour. The coffin was placed on a gun carriage and then carried through the streets of the city followed by DPR officials.
Arsen Pavlov is believed to have been the victim of an assassination on Sunday evening when a bomb exploded in the lift of the building where he lived. Donetsk authorities blame Kiev for the blast which also claimed the life of his bodyguard. Pavlov came to prominence when numerous YouTube videos and media reports emerged of him and his men fighting near the frontline in 2014.
