USA: Trump says he has no regrets about tweets against congresswomen

SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "No, if people want to leave our country they can if they don't want to love our country, if they don't want to fight for our country they can. I'll never change on that. No."
SOT, Journalist: "Do you think you're winning the political fight?"
SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "I do think I'm winning the political fight. I think I'm winning it by a lot. I think that they are not espousing the views of our country. The four congresswomen, I think that they've said horrible things that the press doesn't cover, I think you should try covering it. When you look at some of the things they said, they're unthinkable. If somebody else or me or anybody else said things like that, it would be historic. So you want to look at some of their horrible statements, because there's never been statements like that."

SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "Well the Democratic Party is really going in a direction that nobody thought possible, they're going so far left, they're going to fall off a cliff. So I think they're making a big mistake but who knows. That's up to them."
SOT, Journalist: "Is your administration possibly going to look into immigration fraud committed by [Rep. of Minnesota] Ilhan Omar by possibly marrying her brother?"
SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "Well there's a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it. I hear she was married to her brother. You're asking me a question about it. I don't know but I'm sure that somebody would be looking at that."

SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "Well I think the story last night was that 187 Republicans voted in favor of Trump and four voted against. I think that was the big story that seems to be the story. There is great unity of the Republican Party, it's very unfair what's happened with respect to the way I would say Republicans are being treated frankly but certainly the way this president has been treated. In the history of our country there's never been anything like this and there should never be allowed to happen to another president again, should never be allowed to happen. Despite that, we've created the greatest economy in the history of our country. We're doing things like nobody's ever done. We have the best job numbers in the history of our country, African-American, Asian American, women, Hispanic American, best job numbers we've ever had. And I have to go because I see it starting to pour."
SOT, Journalist: "You seem to be relishing this fight with the congresswomen."
SOT, Donald Trump, President of the United States: "I'm not relishing the fight. I'm enjoying it because I have to get the word out to the American people. And you have to enjoy what you do. I enjoy what I do. The key is, the key is, it's not a question of relishing. They're wrong, they're absolutely wrong. That's not where our country wants to be. We're not going to go and we're not going to be a socialist country. It's not going to happen."

US President Donald Trump said he did not regret tweeting that four Democratic freshmen congresswomen should "go back" to their home countries, despite them all being US citizens, as he departed the White House in Washington DC for a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday.
"If people want to leave our country, they can. If they don't want to love our country, if they don't want to fight for our country, they can," Trump said. "I'll never change on that. No."
Trump said he was not "relishing the fight" with the congresswomen, but "enjoying it because I have to get the word out to the American people.
Trump addressed questions concerning the background of Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, saying "there's a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it. I hear she was married to her brother."
Omar arrived to the United States in 1992 as a refugee from Somalia.
As Omar was running for a seat in the Minnesota House in 2016, conservative bloggers maintained she was simultaneously married to two men, one of which was alleged to be her brother.
These allegations have since been disproven by marriage records.
The US President sparked controversy over the weekend with a series of tweets seemingly aimed at new Democratic congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley and Ilhan Omar that were widely condemned as racist. He wrote that the representatives - three of whom were born in the US and all American citizens - should "go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came."
