Qatar: Former FlyDubai pilots blame 'fatigue' for Rostov-on-Don crash

I know for a fact through a close friend of his wife, she said that Alejandro did not want to go to work that night because he was so tired. But he said “I need to go into work because we are having twins, we are going to need the money. And because if you do not go into work, a lot of our pay, a third of our pay is made up of flying pay, so if you do not fly, you do not get paid. For many pilots as a form of control, but for fear of reprisal they do not necessarily file a safety report. They say it is a no punitive culture at FlyDubai, if you report nothing would happen, but pilots who have spoken out had been leaned on to resign, and told that they would get end-of-service benefits if they resign, otherwise they will be fired."
In and exclusive interview with RT from Doha, Wednesday, two former FlyDubai pilots claimed that the crew of the Boeing 737 that crashed in Rostov-on-Don on Saturday morning was the result of pilot fatigue.
"Neither pilot had much seniority in their seats. They were considered pretty junior, therefore hey would have been getting pretty bad flights, long night flights, a lot of night flights. And they were probably very, very tired and very fatigued," one former pilot said.
"All the comments are extremely accurate and true. The pressure applied to pilots by the management is relentless. And they were definitely fatigued," the second pilot confirmed.
A FlyDubai passenger Boeing travelling from Dubai crashed on landing at Rostov-on-Don Airport, early on Saturday morning, with all passengers and crew members reported dead. The Boeing 737 plane reportedly crashed due to poor visibility, landing 50 to 100 metres (164 to 328 feet) away from the runway on the second approach. All 55 passengers and the six crew members were killed in the crash. Four children were among those killed. Both black boxes were found and have been delivered to Moscow for further examinations.
