Russia: Security guard shot outside Moscow Choral Synagogue

A security guard was shot after a man tried to break into Moscow's Choral Synagogue armed with a pneumatic gun and a can of gasoline on Saturday.
The Deputy Chairman of Moscow Community of Mountain Jews, Viktor Rakhamilov stated, "He was hanging around here since three o'clock, the security guards saw him, he had a can in his hand. He tried to enter the synagogue, asked for the chief Rabbi but he was stopped. Then he walked around here for two more hours," He added that the security of the synagogue called the police and "when the guard turned away, he pulled out the gun and opened fire."
The security guard was shot as he attempted to block the attacker from entering the building. Before being arrested, the attacker tried to set fire to himself but was stopped by police before his arrest.
The suspect is 40-years-old male from the Moscow region's city of Korolyov. According to the preliminary information, the man is registered in a psychological dispensary and his mental condition is considered to be unstable.
