State of Palestine: See Gazan breakdancers throw shapes 1 year on from Israeli attack

Children living in Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp showed off their breakdancing moves on Wednesday. Up to 50 children attend the breakdancing classes ran by Ahmed al Ghraiz who says that dancing is a way of showing resistance and expressing yourself. Ahmed’s first dance centre was bombed during the 2008 Gaza conflict between Hamas and Israel. The dance classes have continued despite the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict, during which over 12,000 homes were destroyed. During the 51-day conflict Israel's 'Operation Protective Edge' killed an estimated 2,310 Palestinians, with 70 percent of the death toll thought to be civilians. Six Israeli civilians died in the conflict as well as 66 soldiers. The Gaza territories continue to be sealed off by the Israeli forces, who are restricting the entry of food supplies and materials needed to rebuild infrastructure. According to the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), the campaign was launched in order to restore "security to Israeli civilians living under Hamas rocket fire." Fishermen are severely limited in where they can work, with Israeli patrol ships limiting fishing to within six nautical miles (9.7 km) of the shore. Some 41 countries voted for a resolution calling for Israel to be held accountable for war crimes, at the 29th regular session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), held from 15 June to 3 July 2015. However, the resolution was vetoed by the USA, the only country to vote 'no'.
