Periscope Gives Twitter Users Free Peak Into Pacquiao-Mayweather Bout

When Floyd Mayweather technically defeated Manny Pacquiao on May 2 in Las Vegas, the unthrilling fight left many starved for a real winner. Twitter CEO Dick Costolo suggested one: his own company's live-streaming app, Periscope. Many agreed, as thousands of Twitter users took to the live-streaming service to broadcast and watch portions of the fight that would otherwise have cost a whopping $100 on pay-per-view. At one point, as Mashable reported, 10,000 people were simultaneously watching a random stream of the match on the app — in Spanish.
