M/S Soldiers and mortars Militias from the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR/LNR) began withdrawing 82 millimetre calibre weapons from the frontline in Lugansk, Thursday, beginning with the removal of mortars from their original base at a military range near Aleksandrovka. Militiamen loaded the weapons into the back of lorries to take them 15km (9m) from the frontline to another base near the village of Beloe, where Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) observers will be able to conduct verification procedures. The move is in line with Minsk agreements and is aimed at creating of a buffer zone of 30 kilometres (18 miles) between the Ukrainian troops attacking Donbass and the militia forces. In accordance with the Minsk agreement, tanks were withdrawn first, followed by artillery weapons of less than 100mm calibre and mortars. The withdrawal started in the north of the LPR territory and will continue down to the south of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR/DNR). The process of withdrawal is expected to take a total of 41 days.
