Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency said it "absolutely does not agree with the conclusions made in the final report" of the investigation into the downing of MH17 at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday. Deputy Head of the FATA, Oleg Strochevoy heavily criticised the Dutch-led investigation by saying "the conclusions made in the final report. They are completely wrong. The lack of logic in the report is just off the scale". Strochevoy complained that the comments sent by Moscow to the investigators "were not taken into account". He continued by saying the "answers that the Netherlands gave us, we consider groundless, prejudicial and moreover they are not confirmed by any arguments or facts". However, the FATA did agree with one conclusion, "that the Ukrainian side is responsible for not closing the air space because of the military activity". The Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when it was downed travelling over eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298 including 80 children, and 15 crew members were killed.
