Russia: Shoigu and Argentine's MoD pledge to 'deepen relations'

Russian Defence Minister met his Argentinian counterpart Julio Martinez in Moscow, Thursday, where they discussed military cooperation between the two countries.
Shoigu started the meeting by congratulating his counterpart on Argentina’s 200 year anniversary of the country’s independence from Spain. He said, "I want to wish you and all the Argentinian people happiness and prosperity."
Martinez passed greetings from Argentine President Mauricio Macri and expressed his willingness to "deepen relations and establish strong and active cooperation in defence" with Russia. He also advocated closer cooperation between the countries in peace operations and emergency relief.
Members of the Argentine delegation also attended the Army 2016 International Military Technical Forum, which is currently taking place in the Moscow Region. The annual event hosts around 800 exhibitors and attracts over 200,000 visitors from 73 countries as well official delegations from 38 countries. This year the forum opened on September 6 and will run until September 11.
