Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov emphasised the need to fight terrorism as the "the priority task for everyone" as he addressed the State Duma in Moscow, Wednesday. Lavrov criticised the US for trying to "influence the new world order" and condemned it for "trying to impose their own recipes on other countries which only leads to chaos and anarchy". His stance comes after Russia's recent airstrike campaign in dispelling the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) from large swathes of Syria has been proving a success. Lavrov also mentioned Russia's interests in promoting the stabilization in other countries in the region, including Yemen and Iraq where America has failed to. He went on to condemn the recent terrorist attacks in Ankara and expressed his solidarity between Russia and Turkey by "providing different instruments that would help us to work against the Islamic State".
